What data do we process?

When you email us, call us or apply for a job, we process the information you provide, such as your name, contact details, organisation, question and any attachments. Our website and security services may also process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, timestamp, requested page and security alerts. We do not ask for sensitive personal data through the website.

Why do we process data and on what legal basis?

We use contact and quotation details to answer your question, prepare an agreement or fulfil our commitments. Security logging and essential technical management are based on our legitimate interest in keeping the website reliable and secure. Analytics and external videos are only enabled with your consent.

Who do we share data with?

We use Microsoft Azure for hosting and Cloudflare for security and website delivery. They process technical data as processors or independent service providers under their terms. Google Analytics is only loaded when the service is enabled and you allow analytics. A YouTube player is only loaded after you allow external videos. Links to LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps and Splashtop open external services governed by their own privacy policies.

Retention periods

• Contact, quotation and sales enquiries: no longer than 24 months after the last substantive contact, unless the information becomes part of a customer or statutory record.
• Job applications: no longer than two months after the recruitment process, or up to twelve months when you consent to us retaining your profile.
• Technical security logs: no longer than 30 days, unless an incident or legal obligation requires longer retention.
• Google Analytics: no longer than 14 months when Analytics is enabled and you give consent.
• Cookie and video preferences in your browser: six months. Your motion preference remains stored locally until you change it or clear your browser data.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your data, or object to processing. You can withdraw consent at any time through the preferences at the bottom of the website. Email your request to info@jvit.be. We may ask for reasonable proof of identity and will respond within the statutory period.

Complaints and security

If you have a complaint, you can contact the Belgian Data Protection Authority. We restrict access to personal data and use technical and organisational measures to prevent misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
